We arrived in Pai by a minibus from Chiang Mai. We had heard some horror stories about the driving and the road but it was pretty pleasant.

When we got to our guesthouse we sat and relaxed by the river. Our guesthouse was a short walk from the center of Pai, in the wild. There were many bugs, especially as our bathroom was half outdoors, which meant we had a nice shower with spiders and snails. It was nice to have this experience but it took some getting used to.

On our first evening in Pai we went to the Burger Queen! It was reallyyy good! We had our burgers with chips and homemade garlic mayo dip which was delicious! If you’re ever in Pai- eat there!

The following day we had booked a group tour of Pai. It included most of the highlights all in one day which suited us. The first stop was the white Buddha which was up 300 steps, and it was hot!

It was really lovely and it had a nice view! After this we headed to the Chinese Village. It had lots of different shops and activities such as archery.

After this, we went to a viewpoint with a beautiful view of Pai. The next stop was lunch at a small restaurant on the side of the road, the food was so good and so cheap!

We then went on to the hot springs within a national park. The water was warm and there was a really nice chilled atmosphere around.

Next was the bamboo bridge which is surrounded by rice fields! This was probably my favourite bit of the trip. It was so pretty and green in every direction and it was a nice walk. This was actually added to the trip by the others in the group which I’m really pleased about.

After the Bamboo Bridge, we headed to the waterfall; this was a little disappointing as it was not as big as we expected and it was muddy (we had high expectations). After the waterfall, we stopped at the World War Bridge and then the Pai Canyon for the sunset. It was a really good day for the sunset so we were really lucky!

A brilliant part of the tour was the company! There were only four of us but we all got on really well, we met up later that evening for more food and a few drinks! Hopefully we will meet up with both of them in the future.

On our last full day in Pai we wanted to relax so we treated ourselves to a nicer hotel with an indoor bathroom and outdoor pool. It was nicer than we imagined and I had a lovely day reading and swimming.

As a little break, we went to the Rabbit cafe (my idea of heaven). The rabbits were really cute but I hope they had enough water there as it was really hot. They did sell sweetcorn for the rabbits which some of the rabbits were not interested in (I hope this is because they were well fed).

We then went to grab some pizza for dinner followed by a crepe (what else!). I really enjoyed our time in Pai, it was chilled with lots of good food. A must see for anyone visiting Thailand.
